Teacher Feature: Christie Barnes Teaches Technology

Arming Students with Tools to Succeed in the Real World

For the last 16 years, Christie Barnes has taught Business and Marketing classes in Utah. She has taught middle school, junior high, high school, college and adults. Christie has also taught 6th grade math, study skills and an academic intervention course designed to help Sophomore students get on-track for graduation.

After twenty years in Utah, Christie is enjoying being back in the Southern California sun. At La Mariposa Mrs. Barnes teaches students basic typing and computer literacy, word processing, power point presentations, and more.

“My main goal is for our La Mariposa students to gain literacy in use of technology so that technology becomes a tool for their continued academic success.”

–Christie Barnes
