“You should prepare yourself for maximum cuteness.”–Jay Greenlinger, Principal
Parents got their first glimpse of what our Music Teacher has been teaching our kids all year at our first, of what we hope to be many, Kindergarten “Spring Sing”s. It was a packed house as all five kindergarten classes lined up on the stage to sing a medley of Patriotic and traditional folk songs. The folk songs all emphasized repetition and pattern and were accompanied by adorable hand motions and movements.
The program opened with “Grand Old Flag” and continued with many verses of:
- “She’ll be coming round the Mountain”
- “The Green Grass Grew All Around”
- “Hinky Dinky “Double D” Farm”
- “Down by the Bay”
It was quite impressive that the kids remembered all the verses, “The Green Grass Grew All Around” must have had a least nine. The next act was “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”–and Mr. Greenlinger was right–maximum cuteness! The show closed with the patriotic standards “Yankee Doodle” and “This Land is Your Land”.
Families celebrated a job well done with a some sweet treats in a the quad and a gathering amongst all our kindergarten friends. We can’t wait to see what all the kids have prepared for Open House!
